Meet Diba Somani!
Diba is running for the position of Outreach Director for the WOYL executive. Bilingual in French and English, Diba is a summer student at the family and criminal law practice of Deidre Newman (LLB) and is a former recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal for outstanding scholastic achievement. She currently sits on the executive of the Whitby-Oshawa Federal Liberal Association in the capacity of recording secretary, and was actively involved in Liberal candidate Grant Gordon’s Toronto-Danforth by-election campaign. Moreover, Diba is in the process of formally establishing a Young Liberal Association at UOIT and Durham College campuses to promote Liberal values at the post-secondary level.
Diba has successfully hosted a Young Liberal membership drive at UOIT, and looks forward to attracting new membership through a variety of similar initiatives in the future.
